Papago Golf Club

Papago Golf Club in Phoenix is undoubtedly one of the finest golf courses in the area. Located on the northeast edge of Tempe, Papago offers a world-class experience that golfers of all levels can enjoy.

It was designed by golf course architect William F. Bell, who has created many of the world's most admired courses and started operating in 1962. The course is home to some of the most challenging holes in the area and features a wide variety of terrain, from flat meadows to steep hills.

Landscape

The landscaping at Papago Golf Club is nothing short of extraordinary. Thick stands of trees lining fairways, numerous water hazards strategically placed throughout the golf course, and more than 100 well-maintained sand bunkers add an extra challenge for players.

The front nine holes at Papago have a much different feel than those on the back nine. While still challenging, they have wider fairways and fewer water hazards, making them ideal for beginners or casual golfers who want to enjoy their time on the links without getting overly frustrated by narrow fairways or difficult terrain.

The back nine holes, however, are much more demanding and feature narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and water hazards that can make even the most seasoned golfer think twice before shooting for the green.
